1) Classroom Coaching and School Psychology: Developing your Toolbox to Positively Impact Instruction
Response to Intervention (RtI) emphasizes the importance of Tier I instructional practices and using supplemental interventions to support the core when needed. Oftentimes, student engagement and learning opportunities within the core are overlooked in the rush to provide supplemental services. This session will focus on developing assessment strategies for the school psychologist to enhance consultation and coaching efforts and ultimately improve core instruction practices.

1. Common reasons for learning difficulties in the regular classroom that goes beyond within-child problems.
2. An assessment strategy that focuses on authentic learning opportunities. 3. How to examine the assessment data to frame consultation efforts.

2) RtI at the Secondary Level: A Roadmap to Successful Implementation
While Response to Intervention (RtI) has received frequent attention, use and success at the elementary level, many questions still abound at the secondary level. Participants of this session will translate important assessment and intervention ideas from the elementary level and apply them to the secondary level. In addition, participants will examine Tier I, II, and III strategies that can work at the secondary level. There will be time for session participants to problem solve using the concepts of the session to apply to their own districts.
